Seeing a Pro-life Democrat in Barack Obama
I am Pro-life unashamedly and unapologetically. I believe abortion undermines the very essence of nature in that abortion unlike most medical procedures which aim to treat or cure illnesses, stops what is universally considered to be a healthy life function. For instance, a man is not expected to say “My wife is pregnant… the doctor told us a disease like pregnancy is a hard one to tackle. We could be in for a long battle.” Such a conversation is not a conventional one and if it were to the listener, it might be sign of mental illness. Even pro-choice advocates would likely never support anyone who refers to human life as a disease. Let me state that I would never suggest that pro-choice advocates think is such horrifying terms. Objectively speaking, pro-choicers are often proponents of the “life begins at birth” argument and from a logical standpoint, I see how the argument makes perfect sense when detached from the larger view — born in its definition is a word that signifies a living thing’s existence as a self-sustained powerhouse of independent, bodily functionality. The same argument supposes that because a fetus in a womb is not self-sustained, independent and with out reliance on its mother’s womb in the fullest sense, it is not alive. Yet when I look at an ultra sound, I see a child looking around at its world, playing with its fingers (among other parts) and and moving ever closer to full mental processes. Yet, while I know the cases made on both sides, I have a deeper issue, I feel I must vote for Barack Obama, whom I feel is a better pro-choice candidate then John McCain.
Without question, Barack Obama’s position on abortion is one that upholds the Supreme Court’s decision to leave a woman free to choose whether to carry a baby to term. Though this saddens in my heart of hearts, I feel Senator Obama’s heart and values toward humanity to be irrevocably pro-life. Barack Obama believes in the values of righteous prosperity, community service, assistance for those working hard and struggling. He believes school vouchers are good, but that failing schools should be afforded the chance to lift themselves up before being shut out by parents who can afford to take their children out of the public system and them into an expensive private one. He stands for an affordable heath care system that is a testament to how much people care about all people, not just those with certain jobs and incomes and he also believes that the cultural capital extended to those who can afford vacations outside of the places with which they are familiar, and experience life outside of a 15 mile radius are far better educated than any standardized test could make them. In a firm stance for the dignity of life, he is opposed to any war that defers form its purpose and puts troops in harm’s way while other solutions go unheard. Lastly, he believe that he is his brother’s keeper which to me is the most pro-life mentality of all.
On the abortion debate, Senator Obama while still upholding the Supreme court’s stance on abortion has said time and time again that while Republicans have appointed judges to oppose abortion, they have done little in the public square to help curb the number of unplanned pregnancies. He says the key is to attend to the underlying causes of many abortions such as poverty, lack of childcare, lack of sexual health education and even a lack of parental guidance to due some parents’ inability to be home for the fact they may be working. I see his point. If Roe v. Wade were overturned without regard for the circumstances surrounding this issue, America would very likely be worse off in that the number of children living in poorer conditions may increase and thus dig the country into a deeper hole of despair in this regard. Senator Obama shows me he cares deeply for life in all these many ways and if he is telling the truth, I even think he may have a change heart and America may finally see a pro-life democrat.
Keep waxin’!

No, no, no. He is anything but pro-life. He is quite the opposite and has proven himself so with his legislative votes as an Il Senator.
That being said, roe v wade was based on false information presented to the courts. It was a bad decision and has not been upheld by the Supreme Court. It is and should be a state issue decided by the people on a state by state basis.
Yes, Obama is not for life he is for murder.
And he voted for partial birth abortion. Even when babies are born and lived on botched abortions they kill them. These partial birth abortions are done on babies that are 6 months old too!
McCain is not going to make abortion against the law though, he does not want women to perform abortions on themselves and possible kill themselves.
When does the baby have a right to life?
