WTF Moment: 70 Year-old Gives Birth to Twins
According to information just released, a 70 year-old Indian woman and her 77 year-old husband have given birth to Twins! Yes, through the miracle of in vitro fertilization, Omkari Panwar and husband Charan Singh Panwar now have heirs to their family name and property. However, this comes at a huge price with the couple’s having to mortgage all their land, sell their buffalo and take out enormous credit card loans to finance the procedure. The couple says that they prayed fervently to God and the saints and were answered much to their joy as daddy Charan is content to simply “die a happy man,” as reported by London’s Sun newspaper.
Yet, I can’t help but feel for these children whose parents will likely be dead by the time they’re six years old! Who will play with these children, raise them, chase them when they run off? I mean…. There are two of them! Is it just me, or does having a child in one’s 70’s seem a bit self-indulgent and stupid? Leave your children orphaned at age 3 in an already immensely overpopulated country…. That’s an idea! (Oh, I forgot to mention this woman has no birth records. She marks her birth by her recollection of India’s Independence in 1947). Whatever, such is the circus of life. Until next time… wax over, wax out!
