U.N. Official’s Credibility in Question Due to 9/11 Theories: Is this justified?

Richard Falk, who is the special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories is now being asked to resign by some in Washington due to his beliefs that the 9/11 attacks could very well have been an inside job. Falk, would like the internal explosion theory to be investigated. He however maintains that he makes no claims of government conspiracy. Below are direct quotes from the Fox News.com article.
“I do think there are questions that haven’t been answered, questions about the way the buildings collapsed and the failure to heed a variety of signals that there was danger coming,” Falk said.
“I think [his beliefs are] fruitcake city, but among many delegations to the U.N. it’s probably the conventional wisdom,” said John Bolton, a former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. known for his straight talk on U.N. hypocrisy.
But Hillel Neuer, executive director of U.N. Watch, a non-governmental organization that monitors the U.N., wants Falk removed from his job.

All this comes after Falk contributed a foreword to conspiracy theorist David Ray Griffin’s 2004 book The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions About the Bush Administration and 9/11. Falk claims Griffin’s views to be not the usual kooky stuff and says that the evidence is there when one considers the unheeded warnings and signs in the days leading up to the attacks.
The bottom line: When one considers again that Falk is not accusing federal officials of anything outright, it becomes hard to see what the issue is here. Has Mr. Falk committed any acts that would put the nation in jeopardy? Has he imposed any obstacle in regard to fighting terrorism? If the answers to these questions is yes, then he may very well need to be removed or resigned from his post. However, nothing in this article, (with the possible exception of an alleged opposition to Israel which does not denote to me a direct or imminent threat), makes the reader know these things to be true. So if there is no evidence against this man, then it seems clear to me that this case is a simple matter of someone having an unpopular opinion and last time I checked, instances such as this are precisely the reason we have a First Amendment, Folks! I do not agree with Falk’s viewpoint, but calling for one’s resignation due to his having an unpopular view is completely un-American! This man is not blaming the government for anything! Until then, I’ll defend his right to say what he will and as always… I’ll do it waxing poetically!

IMO, the U.N. has never had any credibility and should be thrown out of the U.S.
As for this guy, yes he should be fired. He is acting as a representative and employee of this country. It is his duty to defend it - not attempt to weaken it’s status or credibility within the U.N. and the world..
